Britons reminded to register for residency rights

Take note – story published 3 years ago

Citizens of former European Union member state the United Kingdom are being reminded they need to register with the Latvian authorities in order to remain in Latvia after the end of the year on anything other than a short-term visit.

A video posted by the British Embassy in Rīga has an embassy official reminding British nationals that they need to apply for a new residence document via the Office of Citizenship and Migration Affairs, and need to make sure their declared place of residence is up to date.

Meanwhile the so-called 'Brexit' negotiations led by Michel Barnier continue in London and Brussels, as yet with no clear outcome.
