Irita Slavinska, spokeswoman for the State Fire and Rescue Service (VUGD), said that the remaining parts of the building were unstable and that there was still a fire hazard.
"Firefighters are still working at the scene. The area is large, and it takes quite a long time to check everything and eliminate all the hazard spots."
"There are places like under the roof that fell, and there's a special technique to remove it so that firefighters can get to those places where anything else could burn. There are places where there are still hazards, there are walls and wall dismantling needs to be done from the beginning, and then firefighters will be able to check everything around there. The building is quite unstable at the moment," the VUGD spokeswoman said.
