Four cents from each tax euro to be spent on defense

Out of every euro paid in taxes, four cents will go to defense in 2016, according to information from the Defense Ministry.

In 2016, the defense budget will reach EUR 367.86 million, which is 1.41 percent of GDP. In 2015, the defense budget was at 1.02 percent of GDP.

It is planned that the defense budget will reach EUR 570 million, or two percent of GDP by 2018.

Next year's defense spending is divided into the following categories - 28 percent for investments, 27 percent to sustain the defense sector, and 45 percent for personnel.
