Three citizens of Kyrgyzstan were detained Friday by the State Border Guard at the Šķaune-Zilupe border crossing for the illegal transport of fourteen Vietnamese nationals, news portal Diena.lv reported Tuesday.

On Friday morning, Diena learned from the Border Guard, the Ludza district officers pulled over two vehicles in which the three previously legally-entered Kyrgyzs citizens were riding. One of the cars contained the fourteen Vietnamese who had illegally crossed the border.

A criminal case has been launched against the detained individuals for the transport of a large number of persons illegally across national borders.

Unfortunately for the undeclared border crossers, they are also currently in official custody for having broken the law.
