Latvian Institute launches feelgood publicity campaign

Take note – story published 3 years ago

The Latvian Institute, the government-funded body tasked with promoting Latvia abroad, has launched another online initiative, to coincide with the start of the new school year on September 1.

The campaign is an upbeat effort with the LI Facebook page saying: "Let's inspire ourselves and others and find the motivation together to keep studying all life long. This is how we stay forever young and let's be real - Latvians can do everything!"

The first video released tells the story of a school pupil and his dream of becoming a top ten YouTuber. He achieves the goal, though the story is actually feelgood fiction.

Similarly there are fictionalised accounts of other children becoming a successful businesswoman and state president.

You can see more at the Latvian Institute's YouTube channel. The videos come with English-language subtitles.
