The birds to be depicted on the new stamps are the swift (Apus apus) and the magpie (Pica pica). The swift has also ben chosen as the bird of the year 2022 in Latvia.

The nominal value of the swift mark is EUR 1.20, whereas of the magpie stamp – EUR 1.47. Both stamps are issued in 100,000 copies each. 800 special envelopes are issued alongside the stamps. The artist of the stamp and envelope design is Ģirts Grīva.

The stamp collection Birds of Latvia has been in circulation since 2010 and new birds supplement it from time to time. You can have a look at all bird stamps here.

The new stamps can be purchased in the largest post offices as well as the e-store of Latvian Post.
