New summer destinations at Rīga Airport

The summer flight season begins at Riga International Airport on March 27, with three new airlines offering flights to and from Riga, reported LETA Thursday.

Ukrainian airline Yanair will offer seven flights per week between Riga and Kyiv (from May 20), Spanish airline Vueling will offer flights between Riga and Barcelona (from June 25), while Greek airline Aegean Airlines will offer one flight per week between Riga and Athens (from June 26).

Meanwhile, Latvian national airline airBaltic will also be offering new routes, as well as resuming several of its seasonal routes.

airBaltic will open direct flights between Riga and Reykjavik in Iceland on May 28 and seasonal flights to the Italian city of Rimini from June 5.

Meanwhile, Hungarian low-cost airline WizzAir will begin two weekly flights between Riga and Tel Aviv from June 20.

Compared to the previous summer season, the number of scheduled flights this season remains at the same level.

This summer season, 21 airlines will be offering flights to 79 destinations from Riga Airport.
