Pack of wolves scares Latvian woman

Take note – story published 8 years ago

A woman from the Renda parish experienced a case of the willies upon encountering a pack of five wolves on the road from Graudupe to Ozoli - twice. Hunters say it could have been one of the packs seen around here before. They say however that wolves are afraid of humans and attacks are rare, reported Latvian Radio Wednesday.

The editor-in-chief of the Kurzemnieks newspaper Daiga Bitiniece told Latvian Radio that the local turned to the newspaper telling that she has seen a pack of wolves twice already on the road between Graudupe and Ozoli.

Hunters confirmed that they came upon a group of seven wolves a week ago and shot two.

They said that people have nothing to fear however, as only rabid wolves attack humans and the disease hasn't been found in the region.

Wolves can also attack humans due to lack of food, but there's enough of it in the region.
