Police employee caught taking €10,000 bribe

Take note – story published 8 years ago

The Corruption Prevention Bureau (KNAB) has initiated legal proceedings against a police employee on suspicion of corruption, becoming only the latest in a long line of cops to find themselves on the wrong end of the law.

KNAB told the press that the unscrupulous cop has been put under police supervision but has not been arrested. There is no further info on the case.

At a press conference last Thursday, Internal Security Bureau (IDVB) chief Valters Murnieks said that State Police Public Order Chief Arvils Feierabends and his deputy, Inspector Ilmars Pletiens were among four people currently being held over alleged bribery involving tens of thousands of euros.
