Starting on the evening of August 15 and running throughout the day on August 16 and 17 various city parks and streets will be hosting craft fairs, concerts and activities with highlights including the traditional basketball marathon outside the National Opera in which the left and right banks of the city do battle.
Visitors are reminded that all trams, trolleybuses and buses will all be running free of charge on Saturday and Sunday, and drivers are reminded that traffic restrictions are in place at several sites, most notably between the Akmens and Vansu bridges on the right bank of the river Daugava, which has been transformed into a pedestrianized concert venue for the duration.
Organizers have created an interactive map showing where the all the special events are taking place and how to reach them.
The interactive map is available in Latvian, Russian and English by clicking HERE.
