Russian armed units keep up presence near lines

Russian military units were detected by National Armed Forces and NATO Baltic Air Police jets on Tuesday and Wednesday, reported the NBS on its social media profile Twitter Wednesday.

On Wednesday morning news was posted on the previously seen Russian navy frigates Boikiy and Stoikiy plying the waters near Latvia's maritime territories about 15 kilometers off the border. Each of these vessels have been reported in the Baltic Sea along Latvia's border zones on several occasions in the past year.

On Tuesday after the sighting of a Tupolev airliner, BAP jets scrambled to the skies over the Baltic Sea to spot another pair of Russian planes. This time they were an Antonov AN-72 and Ilyushin IL-76.
