Favorite destinations for tourists from Latvia include Egypt, Tenerife, the United Arab Emirates, Thailand, Sri Lanka, and Morocco.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has devised a mobile application, "Ceļo droši" (Travel Safe), available at Google play and Apple store.
The application contains advice on the required travel documents, safety, insurance, information on crossing the border, and visa requirements by country.
The application warns about possible risks, including the security situation in destination countries .
The application also has a travel planner function offering reminders about things to do in advance of a trip such as obtaining a visa. It is also possible to add personal reminders.
Importantly contacts of Latvia's diplomatic missions and honorary consuls are also included plus information on emergency assistance and possibilities for a fast and easy communication with the Foreign Ministry Consular Department in an around-the-clock mode.
