During the night to Saturday in the eastern part of Latvia it will be snowing profusely. In central and eastern Vidzeme, as well as Latgale, the snow layer will increase by 5-8 centimeters. Rain and wet snow are expected in the rest of the country. Air temperatures will be between -3 C in the east of the country and +3 C on the seaside in Kurzeme at the start of the night, getting warmer by morning.
On Saturday, the air temperature in Kurzeme, Zemgale, and Rīga will reach +6 C to +8 C, in the rest of the country between +3 C and +5 C, the sun will shine, some rain is possible in places, but gusty winds will blow in western Kurzeme up to 15-18 meters per second.
It will also be windy Sunday with westerly, northwesterly wind gusts around 20 meters per second on the coast. Temporary wet snow and rain are expected in many places. Temperature at night -2 C to +3 C, day +1 to +5 C.
The weather in our region will be set by strong cyclones next week, so precipitation is often expected with gusty winds, and temperatures will become more volatile. Frost is more likely.
