Forest fire warning in place for coming days

An orange alert (danger) is in place across the majority of Latvian territory with the remainder subject to a yellow alert (potenial danger). The warnings will apply right through the weekend.

"As the dry weather continues, the danger of fire is high in forests in eastern districts, and very high in central and western districts. We invite you to be careful and inform the rescue services immediately in case of fire! When going out in nature - be responsible!" urged the VUGD.
