Weather week in Latvia: gradually warmer and windier

In the middle of the week, the weather will become considerably warmer in Latvia, however, strong winds are expected again, according to forecasts by LSM's weatherman Toms Bricis.

At night to Tuesday, the wind will finally subside, and the night will be cold. The minimum temperature for most of the country will drop below zero, ranging between -2 C to +3 C, coastal +4 C to +8 C. Over the course of the day, the wind will turn in from the south and southwest, but it will still be mostly slow. The air will warm to +7 C to +13 C, and no significant precipitation is expected.

Southwesterly winds will start to pick up again on Wednesday, with gusts reaching around 20 m/s on the coast, but it will get warmer, with temperatures reaching +10 C to +16 C in the afternoon.

On Thursday, western wind gusts will be 15-20 meters per second in most of the country, coastal areas around 25 meters per second. Such winds can once again bring some damage, but it will get slower on Friday. Air temperatures Thursday and Friday in the afternoons at +9 C to +14 C, at nights around +5 C to +10 C.

A new cyclone will reach Latvia during the weekend, a strong southwest, western wind is expected again, but it will bring very warm air temporarily and temperatures could rise as high as +13 C to +18 C on Saturday, but it will get cooler on Sunday.

Rainy weather is often expected in the second half of the week.
