Rest of week in Latvia will be warm and windy

Until the end of this week, the weather in Latvia will remain windy but warm, according to forecasts.

The strongest winds are expected on Thursday, with westerly wind gusts reaching 15-20 meters per second across much of the country, while in North Kurzeme and the North Vidzeme coast around 25 meters per second. It will rain at times, temperatures will be around +10 C to +13 C.

Friday will pass without rain in much of the country, the wind will calm a little too, and temperatures won't change much, but Saturday will be windier, rainier yet warmer again. Air temperatures will reach +14 C to +17 C on Saturday, places in Zemgale and Latgale up to +18 C to +19 C.

Temperatures will start to drop from Sunday and some frost is expected overnight next week, with temperatures could slip as low as -5 C in the east of the country, but it will only climb slightly above zero during the day. Rainfall is expected at the beginning of the week and the wind will mostly subside.
