Temperatures set to climb at weekend

The warmest weather of the weekend is expected on Sunday, when temperatures could climb as high as +12 Celsius, according to the latest forecasts.

During the weekend, the sky will often be cloudy, with the sun managing to break through only occasionally. Saturday will pass without significant precipitation, on Sunday a little rain is possible in some places.

Saturday will be windier, with southerly gusts of 12-17 meters per second in most of the country, but the wind will become slower on Sunday.

Air temperature on Friday night and Saturday morning will be in the range of -3 C to +3 C before in the afternoon the air will warm up to from +4 C to +9 degrees. 

Overnight from Saturday to Sunday will be mild with temperatures no colder than freezing point and then in the afternoon it will be warm up to from +7 C to as high as +12 C.  In Northern Vidzeme, the temperature is expected to be a little cooler than elsewhere at around +5 C or +6 C.

On Sunday, March 18, day and night will be of equal length, but on March 20, astronomical spring will begin .
