Drought will continue in Latvia this week

Drought will continue in Latvia for a long time, according to forecasts by weatherman Toms Bricis.

Some local rain clouds will show up in the first half of the week but they will affect a small part of the country without significantly reducing the drought. On Friday and Saturday, the cyclone will bring some more clouds but the amount of rainfall will not be high.

Air temperatures until Thursday in the afternoons will be mostly +20 C to +26 C, a few degrees cooler off the coast. At night the temperatures will range between +8 C to +13 C.

As of Friday, it will get cooler, with temperatures in the afternoons at +15 C to +20 C, even cooler on Saturday. Nights will also get colder over the weekend. According to current forecasts, there is a potential for frost in the early morning of Sunday. Strong wind is also expected on Friday and Saturday.

Next week the temperature will rise again and the drought will continue.

Rainfall will not reach even half of May's climate normal rate this month.
