Yellow alert across Latvia for thunderstorms

"In the last few hours, lightning discharges have been observed in many places in Latvia. A yellow warning is in effect for thunderstorms with strong wind gusts and heavy rain, with possible hail," the LVĢMC said, adding pictures of recent lightning strikes and a yellow alert (potential danger) that is in place across the whole country.

In addition, an orange alert (danger) remains in force across Vidzeme region and a few other districts.
