A yellow alert (potential danger) is in place across the whole country with the exception of eastern and south-eastern districts where a more serious orange alert (danger) is in effect, according to the Latvian Environment, Geology and Meteorology Center (LVĢMC).
In a first warning, the LVĢMC said strong wind gusts of up to 15 meters per second can be expected in places, as well as 10-19 mm of rain, with hail also possible.
