Chilly week in prospect

Take note – story published 8 years ago

Assumptions that winter had fled the Baltic with balmy spring replacing it appear to be wide of the mark with weathermen forecasting a chilly start to this week.

Temperatures could plunge as low as minus 12 Celsius during the night in the early part of the week before warmer temperatures return Thursday, LTV's weather team said Monday.

Clear skies will account for the low temperatures and will ensure long periods of sunshine, with Wednesday night likely to see temperatures at their lowest.

From Thursday a front of warmer air should arrive. While daytime temperatures will be only a few degrees warmer, night-time temperatures should be much less extreme.

On the downside, the chance of rain will increase.
