Take note – story published 6 years ago

After experiencing a generally mild and pleasant weekend, this week in Latvia will see another mini cold snap before temperatures improve again for Easter weekend, according to forecasters.

The cold front will arrive Monday afternoon and by Tuesday morning temperatures will be back below zero across the country, but the coldest days of the week are likely to be Wednesday, Thursday and Friday, when temperatures drop as low as -12 degrees C at night in parts of Latgale. The days will be mostly sunnyand in the range of -2 to + 3 C.

On Friday, clouds will build up, and in many places some snow and sleet are expected, with temperatures 1-2 degrees higher.

Saturday will get warmer still, but forecasts for the Easter holidays are still fairly uncertain. Most likely, precipitation is expected - both snow and rain. At night, considerable frost is expected in many places, but the days will get warmer.
