The weather in Latvia will be much cooler this week, according to forecasters.

On Monday, temperatures in southern Kurzeme will still reach to +30 degrees Celsius, but, starting from Tuesday, cold air will advance across the country, with temperatures rising to a mere +15 degrees C in northeastern Vidzeme and to +23 to +24 in Kurzeme.

By far the coldest night will be on Wednesday, with temperatures in the east of Vidzeme dropping to +5 degrees C, while in the rest of the country the temperature will range from +7 to +22 degrees C.

The days will be cloudy, with a chance of rainfall mostly on Tuesday. The afternoon temperatures throughout the week will range from +17 to +22 degrees C, with a few degrees cooler in Vidzeme.

The weekend, however, will witness even cooler and more humid air masses flowing into our region, with temperatures reaching +20 degrees C on Saturday in most of the country, but falling to +14 to +19 degrees C on Sunday.

Slow, at times gusty northeastern and northern winds will prevail throughout the week.
