Eclipse on Tuesday will only be seen in Kurzeme

Take note – story published 1 year ago

The partial solar eclipse expected on Tuesday will likely not be seen very well as clouds will obscure it, according to weatherman Toms Bricis.

The most optimistic forecast is in Kurzeme where the skies will be the clearest, and a small possibility is also in Rīga.

The beginning of the eclipse in Riga will be 12:12, but the maximum phase, when the Moon covers 59% of the Sun's diameter, will be 13:23 and the eclipse will end at 14:33.

In other places of Latvia, both the timing and the maximum phase will vary slightly. Everything will take place in Liepāja a few minutes earlier, and the phase will be slightly smaller than in Rīga. Everything will take place a few minutes later in Latgale, but the maximum phase will be 63%.

This eclipse will not be seen as a full eclipse of the Sun anywhere on Earth.
