Take note – story published 2 years ago

On Friday morning, the State Fire and Rescue Service (VUGD) received more than a hundred calls in need of help with the damage caused by the wind, VUGD told LETA January 14.

VUGD said that it had mostly been necessary to remove trees or branches from power lines and roads.

At 14.15 a call was received to the Central Market in Riga, where a chunk of the roof covering had detached from the market pavilion. VUGD is working at the scene. Wind-ripped roofing plates are being dismantled.
