High summer this year has been something of a joke, with rain falling somewhere in Latvia on every single day since June 23.
But with an anticyclone expected to be in place over the country for most of this week, that damp pattern should finally be broken.

As well as being dry, daytime temperatures will be pleasant, ranging from +17 to + 22 degrees Celsius at the start of the week and warming up towards the end of the week, with temperatures of +23 to + 25 degrees.
The news of a dry spell will be particularly welcome to any of Latvia's farmers who might still have crops to bring in - many have faced the prospect of spoiled crops due to the damp conditions.
