From Thursday at 5 AM until Friday at 8 AM wind gusts on the west coast of Kurzeme will reach 25-27 meters per second (m/s).
Windy weather is also expected in the rest of the country, but not more than 20 m/s.
As the storm in the open Baltic Sea is expected to be strong, with wind gusts exceeding 30 m/s, latest forecasts should be followed as there is a risk that the current storm directions could change.
The strong wind will also be accompanied by snow and blizzard as temperatures are to fall in the coming days.
