Southeasterly winds will blow tropical weather systems our way with maximum air temperatures in the afternoons consistently between +24 Celsius and + 29 C, with some places even warmer with a maximum of + 32 C. Temperatures will be slightly cooler along the coast, but still plenty warm enough to justify a beach towel and swimming costume.
Even the nights will be warm and even sultry, and in the second half of the week the temperature will not fall below +15 C at night, while that figure will be more like +20 C in Rīga.
However the high temperatures are likely to generate occasional electrical storms which, while clearing the air, will be quite violent in places with lightning strikes and hail possible.
Gaidāma karsta un saulaina nedēļa, bet jau nedēļas beigās daudzviet līs un ducinās pērkons.

The public is being advised to take care in the hot conditions and not over-expose themselves to the sunlight and high temperatures in the middle of the day. Children and pets should not be left in cars and care should be taken to take on enough water and find enough shade regardless of whether you have four legs or two.
Hot weather in Latvia also often brings with it a rise in the number of drownings, so please take care if going for a swim and don't mix swimming with alcohol.
During thunderstroms, the public is advised to turn off and unplug electrical items and lightning strikes to power lines can create problems and, as ever, extreme care should be taken not to start forest fires during the dry periods.
