On Friday morning the weather is clear, and upon sunrise the temperature was about +10..+14 degrees, with a cooler +7..+8 in parts of Latgale.

The air temperature during the day be +26..+31 degrees, and a colder +23..+25 by the sea in Kurzeme.

The national heat record for July 3 is expected to be broken today.

Saturday and Sunday will be sunny, but Sunday will see some clouds gathering, mainly in Kurzeme, where short thunderstorms are expected.

The nights on the weekend will be refreshingly cool at +12..+18 degrees and will reach +26..+31 at day, +23..+25 by the sea.

Note that UV radiation is particularly strong these days, as the Rucava measuring station has seen the UV index reach 7.9 points, the highest since it was started to be measured in 2008. It is expected to become even stronger and reach 8 to 8.5 points, which is very rare for Latvia.

Next week will be a bit cooler at first, with a weather typical for the Latvian summer, but from Wednesday the weather will get cool down and we'll see more rain.
