For the first time in 2021, the air temperature in Latvia has reached +30 C, according to information from the Latvian Environment, Geology and Meteorology Centre (LĢVMC).
The highest heat was registered in Mērsrags.
In most parts of the country the air in the afternoon heated to +27 C +30 C, cooler near the coast.
Last year, the first time Latvia hit +30 C was on June 8.
Due to the heat wave, this June may become the hottest since observations have been recorded.
