On Tuesday, the sun will appear more often, although there will still be plenty of clouds, and the temperature will reach +19 C to + 24 C again in most places, though eastern Vidzeme and Latgale can expect to be a few degrees warmer still.
On Wednesday it will be even warmer. Most parts of the country experiencing temperatures of +25 C to + 30 C.
The hottest weather this week is expected from Thursday to Saturday, when the temperature in the afternoons in most of Latvia will be around the + 30 C mark. The high temperatures will be accompanied by thunderstorms which might bring heavy rain, temporary flooding and damage caused by strong winds and hailstones.
The temperature will drop slightly from Sunday, but the current forecasts for Midsummer show that the weather is likely to remain warm, and although short-term rain is possible in some places, most of Latvia's holidays will be dry.
