Warmish week with heavy rain Tuesday

This week the weather in Latvia will be similar to that of last week: generally warm with sunny spells but also regular rain.

After a pleasant and sunny Monday, on Tuesday, a cyclone from the east will bring heavy and long-lasting rain with thunderstorms. Monday lunchtime a red warning was issued about potential flash flooding on Tuesday due to the intensity of the downpour, particularly in eastern districts.

It will also get a little colder, and the air temperature will mostly stick around the + 20 Celsius mark during the day.

On Wednesday, the impact of the cyclone will gradually diminish. Sunny and dry weather is expected in the west, while in the eastern parts of the country the sky will be mostly cloudy, with rain and thunderstorms possible at night. The wind will be slow to moderate in the west, in the afternoon it will be gusty in the east. At night, the thermometer bar will not fall below + 10 C, but during the day the air temperature will be within the range + 15 C to + 21 C.

Thursday and Friday will be mostly sunny, but from time to time the sky will be covered with clouds, which will bring rain in places. During the day the air temperature will be within the range + 15 C to + 20 C.

According to the current forecast, things will warm up slightly on the weekend, but will not exceed + 25 C. The weather will be mostly dry.
