Weather week in Latvia: Cool in the middle, warm at both ends

Take note – story published 3 years ago

This week the weather in Latvia will be pleasant with plenty of sunshine and temperatures neither too hot nor too cold for most people's tastes.

On Monday, moderate northwesterly winds will provide some gentle cooling along the coast with air temperatures around +20 Celsius to + 25 C, while in the rest of the country the air will heat up to +25 C to + 29 C. In some places in Vidzeme and Latgale there may be brief thunderstorms.

Tuesday will be similar and it is expected that the coldest and wettest day of the week will be Wednesday, when daytime temperatures will generally be in the range +18 C to + 22 C degrees. At night, the air temperature will drop below +10 C in many places.

Warmer weather is expected again next weekend - the thermometer will probably rise to around +28 C.

From the middle of the week winds will be very sluggish, leading to the formation of fog patches at night and in the early morning.

If you're planning to cool off with a swim in a river or lake, please be sensible and avoid joining the drowning statistics.
