Vidzeme region will see the most snow on Monday with heavy snowfall possible. Winds from the north and northwest will make the air temperatures of -1 to +4 Celsius feel colder.
As usual, Rīga will be a couple fo degrees warmer, and that might make the difference between precipitation falling as rain or sleet rather than snow.

Monday night and Tuesday morning will likely be the coldest part of the week with a hard frost and temperatures down to -10 C degrees inland, though coastal areas will be considerably milder and could even reach positive temperatures.
During the Tuesday the temperature will be from -2 C in eastern Latvia to +3 degrees by the sea.
On Tuesday night into Wednesday, the Baltic region will be crossed by a broad warm weather front, which will bring rainfall all over Latvia and a general thaw that will take hold as Wednesday continues.
The second half of the week will be wet and windy with frequent rain and temperatures in most regions of between +3 C and + 9 C degrees, though eastern Latgale region will be a bit cooler with temperatures of 0 to + 2 C degrees, on Sunday it might become a bit cooler again.
Southwesterly winds will intensify from Thursday, with gusts of 15-20 meters per second on the coast, and Saturday could see storm conditions on the Baltic Sea.
Thoughout the week drivers are advised to take extra care in the slippery conditions and are reminded that from December 1, winter tires are obligatory.
