Weather week: We may see snow next weekend

Take note – story published 3 years ago

The current clement conditions will remain in place across Latvia until the second half of this week, after which things will get much colder, according to the latest forecasts.

There will be no significant changes in the weather until Thursday, with the first few days of the working week characterised by afternoon air temperatures of +8 Celsius to + 13 C, though there will be frequent rain showers, and the north-easterly wind will increase significantly on Wednesday, reaching 11-16 meters per second in gusts, and even 20 meters per second on the North Kurzeme coast.

Next weekend, we will have colder but drier air, so there will be less precipitation. However, the temperature drop might produce the first sight of snow this season, though this is only a possibility and it will not settle. Nevertheless, morning air temperatures next weekend are expected to fall a few degrees below zero, producing frosts, and daytime temperatures will not exceed a maximum of + 9 C.
