The current sub-zero temperatures will remain throughout Latvia on Wednesday, forecasts show.

There will be more cloud and in some places, mainly in Kurzeme, light snow is also expected. A gentle southerly to southeasterly wind with gusts at 9-14 meters per second will make it feel colder still.

Minimum night-time temperatures will range from -5 Celsius to - 10 C in most of the country but will dip as low as -14 C in the east. During the day the air will warm only slightly to between -3 C and - 8 C.

The sky over Rīga will be cloudy, but no precipitation is expected and the daytime temperature Wednesday will be around -5 C.
