Weekend weather: not much change

Take note – story published 1 year and 8 months ago

The weather this weekend and indeed until the end of September will remain pretty much as it is now, according to the latest forecasts.

Over the weekend of September 24-25, there will be chilly nights, with the night-time temperature is expected to drop to zero Celsius in many parts of Latvia with morning frosts, though it will be a bit warmer on the coast. In the afternoons, the air will warm up to around 11 C to 14 C in most places and as high as 16 C in a few locations.

The wind during the weekend will remain mostly slow and changing direction, but in the east of the country a moderate northerly or northwesterly wind is likely. Thick fog is possible in the early morning. It will be mostly dry with only brief, scattered showers.

There will be no big changes in the weather next week. As the wind turns more from the southeast and south, a slightly warmer air mass will flow over Latvia, so the nights will become warmer, but during the days the sky will often be cloudy, with a little more rain, so the maximum daytime temperature will mostly stay within 10 C to 15 C range.

Longer-term forecasts allow us to hope that the beginning of October will not get particularly cold, so it may still be possible to add another jumper and avoid turning the heating on.
