Rain and sleet will continue intermittently until at least Wednesday. Air temperatures during the first half of the week will be between +2 and + 7 Celsius during the days, but the nights will be colder with the possibility of some fast-dispersing early morning frost.
On Thursday, weather conditions will improve somewhat and it will most likely be the only day of the week that will go without precipitation of some sort, with temperatures rising to +5 to + 10 C.
Friday will start in similar fashion, but another windy and rainy weather system is expected to arrive hot on the heels of the previous one, meaning the glorious days of spring will likely remain tantalizingly just out of reach for a while longer.
Evidence of the soggy status quo comes with the information that rainfall so far in March has already exceeded the monthly average for the entire month. In the vicinity of Sigulda rainfall exceeded 70 liters per square meter, which is almost twice the monthly rate.
Tuvākajā nedēļā laika apstākļi būtiski nemainīsies un bieži gaidāmi nokrišņi.
