Astrid Lindgren Memorial Award is one of the world's most prestigious awards in children's literature, created by the Swedish Government in 2002. Gita Treice has been especially successful with her illustrations for poetry book "Brūveri brūvē" (Brewers Brew) in watercolor technique, whereas Anete Melēce has been recently noticed with her own book "Kiosks" (The Kiosk), illustrated with bright marker drawings.
