Song and Dance festival stamps issued by Latvian Postal service

Marking the 150th anniversary of the Latvian Song Celebration, the Latvian postal service (Latvijas Pasts) has issued two postage stamps symbolizing the history of the festival and its future, LP said on June 5.

The presentation and issue of the stamp is scheduled for June 9, 2023 at the Art Gallery “MuseumLV” on Andreja Pumpura Street 2, Rīga, from 10:00 to 17:00 with the participation of the LP choir, Transport Minister Jānis Vitenberg, Culture Minister Nauris Puntulis, Chairman of the Latvian Post Board Mārcis Vilcāns and representatives of the National Culture Centre of Latvia.

The nominal value of each new postage stamp is EUR 1.65, corresponding to consignments in the weight category up to 20 grams in the territory of Latvia. A special envelope of 1,000 copies has also been issued with postage stamps.

The author of the design is the artist Arta Ozola-Jaunarāja.

On the premises of the Art Gallery MuseumLV, from June 9 to July 27, you can see the artist's personal exhibition "Postal stamp. Image of Latvia".
