The 27th International Short Film Festival 2ANNAS takes place in Rīga from April 7 to 13, offering over 100 short films from 25 countries, Latvian Television's culture program reports.

The main theme of the festival this year is 'Body and flesh', loosely based on the events of the world – like the war in Ukraine and the ban on abortions in Poland.

Festival program director Laima Graždanoviča said: “It's an invitation for us to look at the body from a number of viewpoints. We can look at it both as a simple body, as in flesh, and find completely new and other solutions to it. A very strong viewpoint for us is in relation to a woman's body because it has always been the object of viewing, and also the object of criticism.”

The festival will take place both onsite and online.

The full program is available on 2ANNAS website.
