Ottawa International Animation Festival/OIAF has chosen to show the film “My Favorite War” by Latvian director Ilze Burkovska-Jakobsena, as published on the festival's website July 17.

1950 film applications from 84 countries had been received this year. The competition program includes 92 short films and 6 full-featured animation films.

Ottawa's International Animation Festival will take place this year September 23 to October 4 online.

The autobiographical theme-based story “My Favorite War” on childhood spent in Soviet Latvia is a co-production of Latvia and Norway, produced by “Ego Media”.

The film will have its national premiere in Latvia in the autumn.

In June, the animation came first in the Annecy Animation Festival program “Contrechamp.”
