The British-based publisher of some of the world's biggest-selling guides lists Riga's art nouveau architecture, the pretty towns of Kuldiga and Cesis, baroque Rundale palace among its receommendations, along with less obvious attractions such as Latvia's surprisingly good beaches and even the grim legacy of Soviet buildings.
