Midsummer Latvian film festival launches online worldwide

Continuing Midsummer tradition, the National Film Center's (NKC) portal Filmas.lv offers the fourth online festival “Latvian Films in the World” – a selection of summer films from classics to contemporary cinema.

The films are available free of charge during the week, at any time until June 27, and anywhere in the world.

The Midsummer festival includes classics Maija un Paija (1990), Kapteiņa Enriko pulkstenis (1967), Vajadzīga soliste (1984), and new additions to the Latvian cinema: Paradīze '89 (2018) and animation Jēkabs, Mimmi un runājošie suņi (2019).

All movies can be viewed for free from any smart device.

The portal Filmas.lv is the largest database of the Latvian film industry with information available on more than 2600 films filmed in Latvia starting from the 1920s.
