The planned co-financing amount is EUR 800 000. Applications will be accepted starting June 1 and the results of the competition will be announced in July.

The aim of the co-financing competition is to provide support for the resumption of activities in the Latvian film industry by attracting foreign financing to the industry, and to popularize the city of Riga.

On May 18, the competition assessment commission decided on the by-laws of the competition.

Riga City Council explains that local government co-financing successfully attracts and uses foreign investment to help the economy and encourage the creative industries.

All costs attributable to Latvian infrastructure, transport, space and technical rental, hotel, communal, construction and security services, artistic and administrative work, are considered eligible for the competition.
