As part of the ongoing Rīga International Film Festival, a special English-language screening of the new Latvian documentary film 'My Father The Spy' is taking place October 25, 16:00 at the K Suns cinema in Rīga.

A fascinating look at the story of a real-life defector from the Soviet Union to the United States and the effect it had on his family and in particular his daughter, you can read our original review of the film, directed by Jaak Kilmi and Gints Grube in this piece LSM published at the time of its international premiere.

The film is a stylized reconstruction of a personal story of Cold War espionage as investigated by Ieva Lešinska, daughter of CIA and KGB double-agent Imants Lešinskis. Pulling back the curtain on the shady behind-the-scenes world of the Cold War, this film tells a daughter’s dramatic story of her double-agent father, exploring their relationship against the backdrop of events which have their roots over four decades ago.

The October 25 screening will also feature an opportunity to pose questions to members of the production team in a Question and Answer session with the audience. You can view a trailer below.
