Awakening of the Awakening
On Friday, February 10, the grand opening of a brand new culture center "Atmoda" (Awakening) takes place in its premises in Rīga, Stabu Street 10. The center states it is for "lovers of music and art, and those who enjoy bohemian entertainment." On stage: Rūsa, Gapoljeri, DJ Dambis, DJ Kaspars Zaviļeiskis. The party is on between Friday 19:00 and Saturday 5:00.
Honey and Bread
On Sunday, February 12, a "bread and honey" day takes place at the Āgenskalns market, with local bakers showing off their wheat, rye, pumpkin, seed, coriander and other breads, accompanied by the local beekeepers and their honey. The event takes place 9:00 to 17:00.
LNSO en route to France
On Friday, February 10, at the Great Guild (Amatu Street 6, Rīga) the Latvian National Symphony Orchestra will travel to France with Serge Rachmaninoff's Piano Concerto no. 2, Sergei Prokofiev's Music from the ballet Romeo and Juliet, and Pēteris Vasks Musica serena. The concert begins at 19:00.
