The 17th Youth Song & Dance Festival, which was slated for 2020, will not take place that year, said the committee responsible for organizing the festival on March 23.
This is because the Mežaparks Open-Air stage will not be finished by summer 2020.
In order to move the festival to another year, a law that says it takes place every five years will have to be amended. The Education Ministry is to decide when the festival will take place instead.
