Bottles of syrups and some alcoholic beverages will be added to the range of packaging that can be deposited, according to amendments prepared by the Ministry of Environmental Protection and Regional Development and approved by the government, the Ministry said on September 20.

Currently, carbonated and still non-alcoholic beverages, beer, and other fermented products with an alcohol content of up to 6% in plastic (PET), cans, or glass bottles can be transferred to the deposit system.

However, as of June 2023, syrups and alcoholic cocktails with an alcohol content of up to 15%, and all types of alcoholic beverages in plastic (PET) bottles or cans will also be included in the deposit system.

A transitional period for the introduction of the changes provides that those drinks may be placed on the market both with the deposit label and without it until March 31, 2023, and sold by June 30, 2023.

The amendments also state that the voucher obtained by the deposit system can be used up to one year after the issue. I
