Osokin Freedom Festival for Ukraine program announced

A full program of this year's Osokin Freedom Festival for Ukraine has been announced. In addition to previously announced events, the festival will offer special concerts featuring Ukrainian artists, documentary cinema, a day of talks and discussions, a music instrument game camp for Ukrainian children from Chernihiv and other war-hit areas, among other events.

New artists have also been announced - the solo quartet of the Ukrainian National Philharmonic Kyiv Chamber Orchestra, Ukrainian pianist Maria Bobrik and clarinetist Nazar Hizhy, flutist Liene Denisjuka-Straupe, violinist Madara Pētersone, cellist Magdalena Ceple, actresses Zane Daudziņa and Madara Botmane, journalist Ieva Vārna and others.

Pianist and festival organizer Andrejs Osokins said: “I am really glad that for the third year, we can bring together such excellent artists, professionals and companies from other fields to agree to support Ukraine and now seriously ill children in Latvia. I believe festival events will become a place to not only gain inspiration, energy and heart-warming emotion, but they will motivate us to do meaningful work for our country and Ukraine. ”

The fifth Osokin Freedom Festival will be held in Rīga and elsewhere in Latvia from April 5 to May 12. Since the Russian invasion of Ukraine, it has been dedicated to supporting the Ukrainian army, civilians, and especially Ukrainian children.

The festival and its events will take place over two months, bringing together artists from Latvia, Ukraine, and other countries and professionals from different fields in various concerts, master classes, talks, and other events. In collaboration with ticket vendor “Biļešu Paradīze” and the Ziedot.lv charity platform, ticket revenue and funds raised will be used for the support of Ukraine.

The festival program can be accessed and tickets for concerts can be purchased at all Biļešu Paradīse checkouts and on the Internet. More information about the festival can be found on the website.
